Who we are

What we collect

We only collect personal data that you choose to give us, through two forms on this Site:

• Contact form — your name, email address, phone number (optional) and the message you write.
• Newsletter signup ("Join the Line") — your email address only.

We do not use analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts, and we do not set any non-essential cookies. The only cookies used are those WordPress itself needs for the Site to function (see Section 6, "Cookies").

Why we collect it and our legal basis

We use contact-form data to respond to your enquiry, and newsletter data to send you occasional updates about new releases and stories, as described on the sign-up form. In both cases, our legal basis under the GDPR is your consent — given by submitting the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see Section 5, "Your rights").

Where it's stored and who sees it

Submissions are stored in this Site's WordPress database, hosted at Kreativmedia. Contact-form messages are also emailed to gpr@thelonelineproject.com

Your rights

Under the GDPR (and equivalent laws where you live), you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten");
• object to or restrict how we use your data;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter).

Cookies

This Site shows a cookie notice on your first visit. We currently only use strictly-necessary cookies (for example, to remember that you've dismissed the cookie notice, and WordPress's own session cookies). Because these are essential to the Site working, they are not subject to opt-in consent under GDPR/ePrivacy rules. If analytics or marketing cookies are added in future, this notice and this section will be updated so you can consent separately to those.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages and newsletter subscriber records only for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for, or until you ask us to delete them.

Changes to this statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a revised date and will be effective as soon as it is posted on this Site.
